    What is MEIKO eRgOnomIcs?

    MEIKO eRgOnomIcs is the concept we use to plan your dishwashing area for economy and ergonomics.
     

    • Ergonomics’ refers to the science of designing and arranging the things people use at work so that they interact with them as comfortably and efficiently as possible. The goal of ergonomics in the workplace is to optimise people's working environments in order to improve their  working conditions. People at work should not be put under too much physical strain, and they certainly should not come to any harm, even if they do the same job over a period of many years. In brief: work should be easier and gentler on the body. Working conditions should be adapted to suit the workers – not vice versa.
    • ROI’ stands for return on investment, a key figure in the business world. It shows how well an investment is performing in terms of generating a profit, making it a vital metric for understanding the impact of operational spending.

    Taking steps to improve ergonomics and efficiency

    Workflows and tasks are often habitual. It's not about whether the kitchen works. It's about how the staff should work so that tasks are completed in a simple, efficient and ergonomically sensible manner. That is where MEIKO eRgOnomIcs comes in. Our system can show you how best to use staff and resources to improve workflows, wash cycle times and costs while also creating a safe and sustainable workspace where your employees can enjoy doing good work. MEIKO's team of process and REFA specialists has already analysed many kitchens and optimised them using training – and with measurable results. The average efficiency boost is 15–20%!

    Our experts' first step is to observe workflows in the dishwashing area. How do the dishes get to the tray return and then the dishwashing machine? How do they leave the dishwashing machine? All items of dishware, tools and dispensers are included in the analysis. The key question: what movements do the dishwashing staff carry out and how could they be improved? Are some items handled multiple times, for example? Do people have to walk too far or position themselves awkwardly? Our eRgOnomIcs experts also take into account several more details: additional tasks like checking the washware, counting items, handling bottles returned for deposits and cart use are also examined. Once the data has been gathered, we develop an optimised concept for your specific dishwashing area.
